Is that in lightwave? Did you draw it from scratch? Very nice.

It is from blender swap and is now is in lightwave. It needs a lot of work. FYI: Captain Bashir, Anti-Distinctlyminty and I have been holding sessions on Skype where we word on projects for the game while learning new techniques in lightwave. Anit has just complete work on the film Iron Sky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeAfoiN5SDwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHNz5vCXXEs&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lJAw_BtM2g&feature=relatedWe cannot thank him enough for all the help we are getting.

Anti found us a plugin for Lightwave that can do ocean simulation. This should be interesting. The Great Link: I want to open the Dominion video with a scene at the great link. Here a founder will rise out of the link. In order to do this an ocean simulation will create the swells on the surface of the link. Blender now has an ocean tool built in and Lightwave, thanks to Anti locating it, has a plugin. I will build a test in blender and then one, as I learn more, in Lightwave. We can pick the one to polish to a finished video clip.

I really feel like looking at an image from the final episode of Dominion wars. Fantastic view! BTW: My friend Alain, who makes 3D imaging for Vans and Trucks made me this new 3D avatar. As he says: "It feels like I'm making a 3D poster for a dollhouse! Imagine a 12' X 53' poster reduced to 150 pixels!!!" He never went this far but I can't stop imagining him working on his 36" HD Wide screens, doing a stamp! (don't worry, I had my big screen poster also ) Thanks Alain!

Just awesome, thanks for sharing By the way Kenneth, could you post any of the pics from your recent posts (especially the last one with the Great Link) to Facebook as well (just to show the general public that things are moving on)?

Good idea. That Great Link image is, whoever, from the DS9 TV series and what I will try to make my animation look like or better than.

I thought that you had made that image as a demo of what can be done with those plugins ! So, you say you can make something even better than that? You *rock* dude!!!

This is just a test of the system. There is no finished work here. http://youtu.be/kuPJ1DTFP3QWill need to go with a red sky and I guess the near stars have to go. For now I am working on the link itself. There is not formal lighting and no compositing or other nodes.

Looks really good Kenneth! I think their planet is in a nebulae...isn't it? Are you thinking of making a changeling emerge from the link? Just a head transforming partly would be great already, not the whole body, we know they never emerge from there except for conversing with other races.

A humanoid coming out of the link is in the works. For now and looking back at the series I think they did not use an ocean simulation as I have. It looks like they used a series of generated maps for displacement to create the undulation of the link. The question is does it look better as ocean or as they did it. We will have to figure that out.

In the episodes, they thickened the liquid part I think because it's not really water. It's kind of syrup-ish, thus making the waves less pointy. But hey, we're not at a pixel near condition....and it's a game; as long as it reminds us of what we've seen in the episodes. The way I see it, it looks really perfect. Looks like you made it once again, Master!

Thanks Happy. I did go back and look at the way they did the great link. It is canon to do it that way. I will play with the ocean setting to see if I can make it more like that. At this point though I am leaning to using this ocean simulator over their solution from back in the day. To me it is like TOS Klingons vs what we came to know and love. Here is the link with some compositing. I will play with the settings and start looking at a Founder in the soup. After all that I will export it to lightwave and see what else can happen. Who knows, it could end up with a Nazi base on the dark side of the Moon. http://youtu.be/SzWNDHsGjKA

Thanks for your appreciation my friend. Your animation is sumptuous, as it is now! It reflects what I was writing before. Can't wait to see what you're up to next! I believe the music you chose fits perfectly with the liquid ambiance. To confirm that you and I are really connected, go hear what I just composed before reading this message. You may be happily surprised...

- Still working on the opening for the Dominion. Learning lightwave and moving up on a workable animation.

Here is a glimpse of where we are on implementing the Great Link in lightwave. There is still work to do but we are getting closer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS3LauwOAUA&feature=youtu.be

She looks evil with those crystal eyes. Nice, but evil and cold! ... I suppose that's the way she should be. Not that it is so important but.... If you can work on her body, you could give her small, real tiny eyes, neck or forehead wrinkles, not so much but just to make her age, and you'd have The Founder. And I know you already thought of this, but what if you made her melt in the link, like morphing with it, I mean for the lower body.. Just my comment, my two cents. No critics at all. Me? I would never, ever think of criticizing your wonderful work, my friend.
