Made a mistake about the fleet its proper name is Birth of the Federation 2 not botf2. Which you wouldnt find us if you searched for the fleet using botf2 but you should be able to find us if you search for birth of the federation 2 (or simply search "birth of")

Been testing with my main which is in the fleet and my alt which i booted so i can search and yep theres some sort of searching problem which i have sent off a bug report. Anyone wishing to join simple message me and mattress your name@handle and we will send you an invite, this is the only way at the moment to do this.

Edit - says player not found. Can you double check your name@handle and make sure your not already in a fleet.

Edit 2 - nvm took the st off and it worked. Tried to talk to you but must have been busy at the time. Remember to chat to us switch your chat from zone to fleet then we will see it and you wont need to /tell us all the time.

Have to say i am a bit disappointed in the lack of people from here not playing sto and joining our fleet. Thought at least some of the devs, moderators, staff in general would have at least.

I just recently started playing with my college roommates. Sorry for not responding I was playing the Dominion featured missions.

This game is brilliant...I'm playing TOS section 31 missions, the one with the Devidians. I'm mean time travel to TOS time, Devidians from TNG, slingshot warp...whoever wrote the mission hit bullseye for trekkies.

Ooh I LOVE the Devidian missions in STO. They released them as the Halloween featured episodes for 2010, and they were just soo atmospheric and spooky. Perfect for that time of year.

Yeah the fleet is still running, but only myself and Skeeter really seem to be active in it. Search for us in the game.

I'm active man, it's just hard to catch anyone online.

I was thinking of having a go at Trek online, however I have a question for the veterans here: since in general I don't have much time, is it possible to just roam the galaxy, explore and do the occasional quest or you can only go where the missions send you?

I'm not sure if my laptop can handle it though, so I'm not 100% sure if I will do it in the end...

my 7year old system doesn't meet the requirements at all
athlon64 3000+ single core 2,5GB ram and radeon X800XL (which has been higher mid-range before)
still with low details and effects it runs quite smooth in most places

was kinda surprised cause normally it's the other way around and games that should run simply don't

the story you can ignore BUT you need skill and higher rank for better ships and weapons
and that's VERY time consuming...

for just roaming the galaxy and doing some occasional quests or story, I'd lent you my account if it's still present - didn't load it the last few months

Resurrecting an old thread here, but i'm no longer part of the BOTF2 fleet, and neither is Skeeter, so he BOTF2 fleet for all intents and purposes no longer exists. If anyone wants to join us though, we're part of a fleet called Red Dawn 8th Wing.

In case you haven't yet played Picard, yes, you can just explore the Galaxy. There are even whole regions of space dedicated to exploration (Ie the Rolor Nebula near DS9) where the game generates random missions. A lot of the game is very combat-oriented though, so trust me, you do want the best equipment in the game. Even after two years of near-continuous play, I still need to get some of the rarest/most advanced/most expensive equipment in the game.

A lot of people comment on the "pew pew pew" of my Defiant though. She might be fragile, but she packs a hell of a punch. So I might go down, but i'm taking you with me!

I would love to see you online but my ship is a bad joke.

I just bought an upgraded Defiant. It has an extra Tactical console, so my weapons now pack an extra 26.2% more damage. It would 30% more but I can't afford the 40 million energy credits for a very rare Mk XII Phaser Relay.

My new ship is the USS Revenge, a "Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit". It also has 10% more hull strength so it's a little less fragile.
