Seven said that the quantum slipstream drive is similar to the borg transwarp, how do ships warp from sector A to sector E without ramming into other suns, planets, space debris and other ships, i read in a trek book that the early warp ships had to warp in hops to avoid these things and that later computers got that advanced that the ships computers could calculate and make the course corrections mid warp to avoid hitting things, i suppose this makes single jumps possible instead of hopping, im so confused about Transwarp that i have no idea what the HELL its supposed to be, paris was supposed to be the first human to break the transwarp barrier, voyager theory proved that if you hit warp 10 that you instantly are everywhere, but the exelsior in (was it search for spock?) had it when scottie sabotaged it, then the borg have it in theyr'e ships but also have transwarp hub's wich are realy artificialy created wormholes, wich happen to look amazingly like the jump gates in "Freespace" , borg transwarp looks like green tunnels ... then theres the galaxy xx and warp 13 i mean wtf, what is transwarp? when you enter it are you everywhere or is it a tunnel? do you enter it when you break the warp 10 barrier? if so how could future ships hit warp 13?.. the answeres to these and more questions when the script writers make up theyr'e effing minds... i think they make up these inconsistancies just to confuse fans

I just read that in the future, (Somewhere around the late 26th century) the Romulans and Federation will become so close that they begin joint starship research and development, leading to the creation of the RX-01.

This could be a good base for a new storyline, I mean who wouldn't want to make a story about the creation of an advanced starship with all the advantages and technology of the Romulans, Federation? (And TV cameras!)

Perhaps by then, there could be new problems - maybe the Federation/Klingon alliance has gone wrong (Since there was absolutely no mention of the Klingons) or the Borg may have begun to creep back, or something new could be introduced?

This is the sort of thing that this thread was meant to be about, remember?

they can bloody well go off and explore new galaxies, oh look we found a freefloating trans dimensional eddy causing a tear in subspace meaning they get flung into a far galaxy or a spontainous temporal rift sends them far back in time to the T'Kon empire, or a dimensional rupture could send them to another reality where everybody looks like barry manilow *shudder* .. as long as it doesnt involve transwarp i dont care

We need to keep trek alive, what with the death of Enterprise and everything

Anyone got more ideas for trek? You know, non-Borg, non-confusing, non-Enterprise, new stuff? (Sorry about the colours, I was bored)

I think that trek should definitely keep trek moving into the future. We've all heard of the various timeships and temporal technologies that exist in the 26th centuries and beyond...

There are the (Fan-made) ideas of the Federation/Romulan alliance (Plus my previous implications, like the Federation/Klingon alliance becoming more fragile as a result, due to the continued strains between the Romulans and Klingons)

There are still large sections of the Alpha Quadrant that haven't been explored by the Federation, and on top of that, there are the other three Quadrants still to do!

There were our ideas of having a series based in a non-federation environment, like having a Romulan or Klingon series.

There are the new technologies from Voyager - What became of the Quantum Slipstream Drive, Transwarp Drive, Ablative Armour Generators, Transphasic Torpedoes, the Astrometric sensors...

There are the Tholians and Tzenkethi - these conflicts were never really sorted out, and what about races like the Gorn? They haven't been mentioned since the TOS episode, even though on maps they are shown to have an area of space that is about a third of the size of the Federation's! How could a race like that simply be forgotten?

As you can see, there are many topics that a new trek series could be about (There are obviously waaay more than I have put) So what are your ideas? Anyone want to send them to Paramount? Anyone want revenge for Enterprise? Speak now, or forever hold your peace...(And stop me from talking any further...)

You finaly get to see a CGI Gorn in enterprise shortley as well as archer and crew running around wearing TOS gear and flying a TOS Constitution class ship, in episode "in a mirror darkley" cant wait. heres a tidbit for you, when gene rodenberry Created "Andromeda" he orriginaly intended it to be a sequel to trek TOS, script writers just reinvented it the alliance was supposed to be all the major players out of trek uniting then collapsing, id personaly enjoy a star trek version of firefly or restart the old 5 year missions into deep space, all the major wars are over and all our enemies are now our friends, lets go see whats out there

I didn't know that about Andromeda. I knew that Roddenberry created it (Obviously) but I didn't know it was meant to be related to trek. Makes sense really, since some of the CGI effect have looked rather familiar on occaisions... 8O

tribbles are supposed to be empathic and the pure agression freaks em out, as far as i know they breed like gremlins with water, eat devide, if one gets onto a crop producing planet your doomed, i presume the klingons experienced this and exterminate them on sight

Come on people, its not Enterprise that sucked, its the Original Series (not counting some of the original movies). It seems like Kirk's Enterprise caused more inconsistency issues than Archer's did.

But in all seriousness SThedgeHog, Michae1ange1o has a very good point. Should we have had Archer's Enterprise look crappier (if such a thing is possible) than Kirk's? Enterpise probably would have been canceled before the first season would have been over. Just imagine what the Bridge set would look like! Like the man said, they werent even using some tech that we have available to us today.

Also like Michae1 said, they did a prety good job of makin the ship resemble some of the TOS designs. There are many levers and knobs, and they even have that stupid "Sensor Hood" that Spock was always looking into.

I've found out that the majority of the people who complain about Enterprise are the ones who have seen very little of the show (much like I used to be). Or if they had seen alot, it was the begining epiosdes, which many of those werent that good anyways. The series kept getting better as it went along, and thats why it sucks the show got cancelled. It would have just kept gaining steam until it would have culminated in the Earth vs. Romulan war.

Yes, I'd much rather see the show cancelled, than to be forced to watch something like a big war between Humanity and the Roms.

Ok Ok, i know it wouldnt work changing Archers ship, but thats the main point. Why did they have to do it in the first place, they should not gop back in time and do prequles. I cant think of any prequals that actually work, and i know we have touch screen stuff now, but remember in trek Khan Nooten Sign (spelt really worng) happend in the mid 90's so thats where i time lines changed.

I dont liike Enterprise (but youve probally already gussed that ) I think they should end it, AND LEAVE IT ENDED, and erase it from the time line, that way the rest of trek works, and ppl who like Enterprise will have to settle that its Not Real Trek.

I do have some trek ideas about why Enterprise doesn't fit in very well (Ignoring the temporal stuff) - WORLD WAR THREE!

No offense, but Earth goes to war. This time it's nuclear. This time it wipes out governments. This time it wipes out currencies. This time it sends Earth into a sort of second dark age! 8O

Sure, Cochrane built the Phoenix - but it took him something like ten years! The people that worked around him did it because they thought it would be a chance to start a new life or something...or they just wanted a change to their lives, like something fun, after having a world war!

So how does this fit in to Enterprise do you ask? Well think of it this way. World War Three made money an extinct object. Without money, technological progress ground to a halt. People weren't being paid, there were no facilities, there was no equipment - so there was no research (Other than by the truly dedicated, of course)

Any facilities or equipment that were available before WW3 were likely destroyed - so basically, there was almost no technology left on Earth - unless it could be used for Human survival.

The war would have knocked Earth back, and even with Vulcan 'help', it would have been an upward struggle. But we know Earth made it. We know Humanity survived. Enterprise and the other incarnations are the testament to that.

Most of the technology that we see on Enterprise was either 'reinvented', or it was given to us by the Vulcans. Perhaps this could explain why Enterprise seems too advanced. Anyway, Humanity was a needy race. The Vulcans decoded that it would be logical to give us some help getting back on our feet, so they loaned some technology to us.

50 years later, disease, poverty, and war are gone. Warp 5 engines are a reality, and Enterprise is reaching for the stars.

Basically, this waffle is a trekky explanation as to why Enterprise had too few knobs and clipboards!

I know I'm gonna catch hell over this, but what about a new movie that focused on the temperal wars? It could help explain some of the timeline stuff in enterprise.... or we could just let it be as it is and not do that movie lol.
