Any predictions of a release date?....I'm sure I'm not the one dying for this game.

I think the reasoning behind the limited number of testers is so 100+ people dont all report the same bugs over and over.

Along with the bugs found a certain quality to the bugs is also required. Saying "X feature is broke" doesn't quite help the developers.
However, "X feature is broken and follow these # of steps it will occure X number of times out of Y tries." Probably bullet point step formatting would probably be the best.
I am sure the devs will have some kind of submission form and example for the beta Testers to use.
If you need someone with a software test background in games let me know I can help out

The best thing is this is a fan game, I mean think about it, we get to make a game (well they get to make a game and we get to say how much it ownes ) about star trek and were star trek fans, so we know what should and should not be in the game! those who get to beta test will be very luckily but if this goes according to plan...this plan, it will be out around the summer and i'll tell ya what, i'll be right their waiting to download it!

Call me suspicious, but I've been watching this project since it started, and don't really share the absolutle, uncritical certainty everybody in here seems to have about it's success...
What happens in here is: some really eager ppl post a lot of their ideas, their wishes, probably even dreams about a new trek game, but u never ever hear anything about an actual realization.
There's hardly any news from the developers, no updates stating the progress or sth and no other fact-like things that would proof that a real, workable game is being made.
You don't even have to doubt the intentions of the developers - for this project, I do believe them - to get to the conclusion, that it might not happen (the way everybody wants it in here). For I imagine game developing (at this level) to be an enormously difficult, complicated and timeconsuming task - and if progress was made, i suppose the ppl putting so much effort in it would tell us about it.
Which incites the notion of a gap/missing link between what ppl in here post and what's actually happening (or rather: not happening).

i guess you supported the good old projects and were dissapointed after a long periode? I have seen some new screens, about the game that haven't been on the forum. Anyway i can understand that you want to see more of this game, but you just have to be patient. The game hasn't even reach beta version and you all want screenshots, and think its weird that only a handfull of screens have been shown. I think that it's quite normal, and you don't have to worry.

As someone who is going to school, working, and writing software for a community, I don't have time to make as many updates as I would like.
It is very difficult to keep everyone up to date, post screenshots and author webpages while you are doing real life, and programming.
If you want more progress....paying them and getting rid of real life distractions would really help.

It's not a matter rof screenshots or the pace of development being fast (even if it's being made - certainly not this summer, certainly not this year. at least if it keeps what it has promised..) but of a rather big divergence between talking a lot (bout very intangible stuff) and presenting very little of what has actually been done. And that's also true for the ppl involved in the forum that are programming.
I don't need to see more of the game (at least that's not my main interest), I'm rather likely a lot less enthuasiastic bout a new trek game than most in here (although i loved the old botf...).
That's why I'm trying to bring in a somewhat more doubtful perspective: it's also for the ppl spending a HUGE amount of their engergy, life time posting interesting stuff in the forum - it would be a shame if it were all wasted.
